Sleep Medicine

It has long been understood that a good night’s sleep is essential to overall health.  For years spouses/bed partners have suffered listening to a snoring individual thinking that it was just something annoying that could not be fixed or treated without sleeping apart.  Today, we understand that snoring can be far more than just a bother, it can be a life-threatening condition called obstructive sleep apnea.  This condition needs to be medically diagnosed and a variety of treatment options are available.

We assist our patients with this by providing at home sleep test that can be administered in the comfort of your own home.  We work with a sleep physician to attain the official medical diagnosis and then work closely with your physician to determine the appropriate treatment.  If a CPAP or surgery is indicated, your physician will offer and provide treatment.  If a mandiular positioning device is appropriate we continue your care in our office with fabrication and delivery of the appliance.  We will also monitor the benefit it is providing by having you complete additional sleep tests when appropriate and necessary.

The treatment of obstructive sleep apnea is a benefit to both the patient and his/her spouse/bed partner.  Talk to us today if you are concerned about yourself or someone you love.
