Community Involvement
Dr. Bishop believes in being involved in the local community. Both Dr. Bishop and her staff devote their time and money in local organizations.
Dental Foundation of North Carolina
The University of North Carolina Dental School is consistently ranked in the Top 5 of dental schools in the United States. The Dental Foundation provides annual support to the school of more than $2 million in scholarships, fellowships, professorships and program support.
Dr. Bishop is on the scholarship committee and a part of the Chancellor’s Circle of giving.
Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties
The Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Laura and Shannon, two of our hygienists are members of the Junior League and Dr. Bishop helps sponsor the Junior League’s Home Roam and Wine Gala which is their main fundraising event.
Veterans of Foreign Wars
VFW – the Chapel Hill VFW post is actively engaged in helping veterans in the Raleigh – Durham – Chapel Hill area. Dr. Bishop helps support the local VFW and her husband is an active member.
